Eilish Blade MSc is a Registered Nutritional Therapist with the British Association for Nutrition and
Lifestyle Medicine (BANT). She recommends personalised nutrition and lifestyle programs based on a functional medicine approach. Essentially this seeks to address the root cause of chronic conditions rather than simply treating symptoms.
She is a specialist in gut related disorders such as IBS, IBD, diverticulitis, GERD, malabsorption,
intestinal permeability, food intolerances, impaired gut motility, Small Intestinal Bowel Overgrowth
(SIBO) and dysbiosis in the gut microbiome. Her work also addresses skin conditions, hormonal
function, autoimmune conditions, metabolic disorders and mental health which often require a
focus on the gut to create long term and sustainable results.
Her clinical recommendations are evidence based and she uses a range of functional tests to look at biomarkers for health. She is registered with a number of private labs such as Invivo and Genova to access high quality tests for clients.
Eilish has worked in the field of complementary therapies for nearly 30 years as a massage
practitioner, a Bowen therapist and a Naturopath before embarking on a career in Nutritional
Therapy. She has also has a background in permaculture and was a soft fruit grower in Ireland.
Her passion for real food and protecting the environment has lead to a strong focus on sustainable
nutrition in her clinical practice. Eilish is an Ambassador for the Real Food Campaign and contributes to the Food Manifesto for Wales on nutrition and health.
